Walk-Ins Accepted As Time Allows

WHAT TO EXPECT

Our piercing fee starts at $55, not including the cost of jewelry, which can vary greatly depending on your selection.

For example, 1 cartilage piercing with our classic titanium jewelry starts at around $90 ($55 piercing fee + $35 jewelry) and may cost more depending on your choice of jewelry.

When piercing cartilage, we only pierce one ear at a time to ensure a safe healing process. If you already have a healing cartilage piercing, we will only add a new one on the same side. Multiple cartilage piercings during one appointment must all be on the same ear. However, earlobe piercings can be done on both ears as they are easier to heal. Each person's anatomy is unique, so we always include a consultation during your appointment to ensure perfect placement and healing.

For new piercings, we avoid using hoops and round rings (except for septum and daith piercings) as they do not support proper healing. We use jewelry that is slightly longer than needed to allow for swelling.

After the swelling has reduced, a follow-up appointment is necessary to switch to a shorter piece of jewelry. This 'downsize' is crucial for proper healing and is typically done 4-8 weeks after the initial piercing.

Make Me Holey is a completely disposable studio. All tools that touch a client's body are disposed of and never reused, including our tri-bevel piercing needles. Additionally, all surfaces are carefully disinfected between clients, and our jewelry is sterilized using top-of-the-line autoclaves tested weekly for efficiency by an independent third-party laboratory.

Before Your Appointment

You'll receive a release form via email, which must be completed with a photo of your ID before your appointment. Failure to do so may result in cancellation, including a possible cancellation fee.

After Your Appointment

During your appointment, we'll schedule a follow-up for downsizing to a shorter backing. This is crucial for proper healing, reducing excess movement, and improving aesthetics. While there's an additional cost for the new post, we always offer 20% off shorter jewelry.

After leaving the studio, it's important to keep your piercing clean. Avoid touching it to minimize trauma. Sleep on the opposite side, use your phone's speaker function, and avoid getting hair products, makeup, soaps, or lotions on it. Ensure anything touching your piercing is clean.

Clean your piercing twice a day with sterile saline, avoiding touching or moving the jewelry to prevent buildup and bacteria. The most thorough cleaning should be in the shower, rinsing with running water to remove buildup and soap residue. For facial piercings, flush with water after washing your face. For nostril piercings, blow bubbles in hot water to flush the inside. For oral piercings, rinse with cold water in the morning, before bed, and after meals, and consider eating ice to reduce swelling.

During healing, expect some swelling, redness, bruising, minor bleeding, and tenderness. Piercings heal from the outside in, so even if they feel healed, they may not be. After healing, don't leave your jewelry out for long periods, as everyone's healing process is different and it may close more quickly than expected.
